Last week, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) had announced a new timetable, which was supposed to begin on 9th May, 2022. However, this will no longer be so as WAEC has postponed said exams to Monday, May 16 2022 by reverting to the former WAEC timetable.

Announcing this change was the Head of the WAEC Nigeria’s office, Patrick Aeghan who stated that it was indeed a great delight for various member states in the Council to have found a common ground in respect of their academic calendars.
It should be noted that there has been a disruption of academic calendars since the COVID-19 pandemic; however, this exams holding on May 16th 2022 shows an harmonized academic calendar across the member states of the West African Examinations Council.
